Le Vieux Moulin

Purchased in mid 2019, Le Vieux Moulin is a characterful property located on the edge of a tiny village in the Gard. Formerly an old olive press (hence the name) it now comprises that building and also the adjoining house, all knocked into one.

Current works include two new bedrooms (with a 'Jack and Jill' WC between them) and en-suite bath/shower, a new entrance from the south side and adding the finishing touches to a much modernised kitchen - which has preserved the delicious old French 'cooking' fireplace but is now revitalised with a comprehensive set of modern appliances and lots of workspace.

Part of the "secret" charm of this property is the hidden internal courtyard, which also provides a first floor terrace partially under the vaulted stone arches - a deliciously cool space throughout the long hot summer days.

The ground floor of the property comprises some 7 or 8 caves, some opening off each other, and there are interesting ideas around developing some of these as additional living space.

Finally, the gardens provide scope for a small pool on the south (hot) side - watch this space!
